SNOW DAY!!!

there are pics that go with this post, but they are not uploading right now. look for the pics in snow day part 2.

tuesday was a great day. we knew that snow was coming but had no idea it would be closing things down! jon was especially excited because he has finals next week, so an extra day to study (...or SLED!) is always needed.

the university of pittsburgh is notorious for staying open no matter what. i think they have only officially closed once. so i bundled and snow-booted and sure enough a bus came to pick me up. when i got home at lunch, the weather and the roads were still awful. since i have to drive quite a piece to clinic, i was off for the day!! wahoo! jon was sweet to dig my car out for me... literally, but i did not end up having to go after all. it is a hard, cold job to scrape off layers of ice and snow. supposedly it is pennsylvania law that your car must be completely clear of ice and snow before you drive it.

jon and i were outside starting my car when i found out i did not have clinic. as soon as i got off the phone, jon pelted me with a snow ball! haha what a perfect way to start our SNOW DAY! this led to many more snowballs... which we are not very good at making. the snow is soo powdery that it is hard to get it to stick together. i love it! of course i had to make a snow angel. this time i did it face up. by the way... it is lots more fun face down! also, i signed my work. too bad i was wearing khaki scrub pants because we had to go inside afterwards since you could see right through them!

after our fun, jon decided he would take advantage of a free afternoon to study. however, i was just getting over a neuro exam and decided sledding would be the best way to spend the afternoon! my friend vanessa (who is good at any and all snow activities) was also off clinic and knew a great place to sled. we had a blast! we sledded backwards, forwards and in circles. it was sooo much fun.

i also went ice skating on friday night with vanessa and andrea. the shot of me is of my phenomenal turn. vanessa snapped the pic just as i was putting my leg down from over my head... you know, like sasha cohen does it. hahaha

what a fun filled week! i hope we have more snow days very soon!
